Remarks

• there is another species:Gloripallium pallium (Linnaeus, 1758) commonly found through the Indo-Pacific:
  
  

  	Gloripallium pallium (Linnaeus, 1758) scales on the ribs are divided in 2 to 3 parts
  	Gloripallium speciosum (Reeve, 1853) scales are not divided

  
  
• closely related to Gloripallium spiniferum (Sowerby I, 1835) from Tuamotu Isl. but G. pallium speciosum has more ribs (10-13) compared to 6-8 ribs of G. spiniferum
