Remarks

• medium sized pecten usually about 40-60 mm in height
• specimens from Brasil are usually smaller compared to the Caribbean specimens
• fragile pectinids, valves covered with numerous, very fine radial riblets.
• colouration from brown to orange - red and sometimes yellow
• no confusion possible with other species from this region
