Remarks

• medium sized pectinid (60-90 mm) mostly brown coloured, other colours are uncommon to rare
• left (upper) valve is rather flat, right (lower) valve convex
• could be confused with Leopecten stillmani (Dijkstra, 1998) found from Sonora Coast (West Mexico) but stillmani has more ribs (+-21) which are less square compared to diegensis (+-18)
