Remarks

• small and fragile pectinid (15-35 mm) usually brown or orange coloured with some white zigzag lines
• related to Leptopecten camerella (Berry, 1957) from Baja California - Mexico but camerella is usually smaller, more circular and the ribs are smaller & sharper compared to latiauratus
