Remarks

• extremely colourful big pectinid
• mostly found from Japan
• often confused with Mimachlamys gloriosa (Reeve, 1853) and Mimachlamys sanguinea (Linnaeus, 1758) but Mimachlamys crassicostata (Sowerby II, 1842) has very pronounced lamellated ribs.
