Remarks

• small to medium sized (25-50 mm), colourfull pectinid
  
  
• This species is often confused with Complicachlamys wardiana Iredale, 1939 however C wardiana lacks the typical shagreen microstructure found in species from the genus Semipallium.
  
  
• Another closely related species is Semipallium fulvicostatum (Adams & Reeve, 1850) from the same locality. The valves of S. fulvicostatum are more regular in convexity and less round shape compared to S. dringi.
