Remarks

• shells between 35 and 70mm in height
• colour usually grey - brown with some white streaks, sometimes orange to pink coloured.
• found from Southwest Pacific
• has more in number and more defined ribs (18-24) compared to the Japanese species Volachlamys hirasei (Bavay, 1904) (14-18 square but less developed ribs)
• closely related to Volachlamys tranquebaria (Gmelin, 1791)
